Rockingham Speedway hasn’t held a NASCAR-sanctioned race since Speedway Motorsports moved the facility’s last Cup event to Texas Motor Speedway after 2004.

After stripping the track of its date, SMI auctioned off the track to the highest bidder, and many thought one of the oldest major race tracks in the country was done for. But Andy Hillenburg stepped in and saved “The Rock,” bringing in all different types of racing. But NASCAR had never been back, until this April when the Camping World Truck Series held the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 200. It was a great race won by Kasey Kahne who led the final 46 (out of 200) laps.

Besides the NASCAR Truck Series race, Rockingham Speedway also held Frank Kimmel Street Stock and UARA Late Model events that were pretty good as well. Here’s a few shots from each that I thought I’d share:
